If you've hung out in a professional forum such as LinkedIn, you've probably come across the phrase "quiet quitting" recently. It sounds negative (and plenty of corporations make it out to be terrible). But I'm here to tell you to embrace the trend - especially if you're a freelance writer.
"I'm a freelance writer, so I can do whatever I want!" True - to some extent. But if you dive into your work headlong and forget to set boundaries (for your clients AND yourself), you're setting yourself up for a world of hurt.
Something strange happens when people hear the word "freelance." They relax their common sense and start to invade your territory. Because "freelance" translates into "freedom." It isn't wrong, but it you don't learn to set boundaries, you'll find yourself losing that precious freedom pretty quick.
